Arriving by train
The airport train takes about 5 minutes to Cagliari. Allow for waiting and the final journey from the station to your accommodation.
Choosing your base
Compare Castello and Marina for a stay among historic streets. Check the walk from the station and the exact entrance to your accommodation, rather than judging the journey by the neighbourhood name alone.
Getting to Poetto
Local public transport links the station area with Poetto. Allow around 25 minutes on board, plus waiting and the walks at either end. Check the return timetable before leaving the city.
Trips beyond Cagliari
Check both the outward and return connections for each day trip outside the city. A convenient city base does not remove the need to plan longer journeys individually.
Villasimius
ARST has a direct bus from Cagliari Autostazione to Via Roma-La Lanterna in Villasimius. Allow around 90 minutes each way as a starting point; return journeys in the checked timetable take around 90 minutes.
For Villasimius, morning buses can be hours apart. Consider a car if you need more freedom over departure times. Pick the return departure before leaving Cagliari and plan your time in town around it. This is a town visit: a bus to the town does not by itself arrange transport to its beaches.
Pula
ARST has a direct bus from Cagliari Autostazione to Via Corinaldi 34 in Pula. Allow around 50 minutes each way as a starting point; return journeys in the checked timetable take around 50 minutes.
Pula has several morning departures in the timetable checked. Choose your return bus in advance. These connections cover Pula town; reaching the Nora archaeological site requires a separately planned final journey.
